2022 was a productive year for research into iron-red gold-ring glaze, with meaningful progress in both breadth and depth. The following glaze varieties were among the most representative, summarized below:
1. Ice-Flower Glaze
White blossoms resembling ice flowers appear on a red glaze surface — elegant and lovely.

2. Red-Flower-Ring Glaze
A ring of red appears on a black background — festive and auspicious.

3. Black-Ground Red-Dot Glaze
Predominantly black, with only a small amount of red showing through — like a lamp glowing in the night.

4. Tender Red Glaze
A small amount of black appears on a tender red ground — visually striking.
This glaze is fired on a high-white clay body, which is very difficult to achieve.

5. Double Gold-Ring Glaze
A black ground with red flowers is the defining feature of iron-red gold-ring glaze, and the gold ring around the edge of each flower is where the magic lies — a double gold ring is a rare achievement indeed.

6. Large Red-Flower Gold-Ring Glaze
At year’s end, I successfully fired an iron-red gold-ring glaze with red flowers up to 6 cm in diameter — the crowning achievement of 2022’s research, and the best reward for my persistent efforts.
